The Athlete

 I day to remember 

I had planned to spend an awesome weekend with my two best-friends at a lagoon near my friend´s house. It is a big lagoon, fresh and beautiful. We  had talked about going and make a picnic there. Everything was ready to go, we decided that we were going to bring what we wanted to eat; for example Karen said she was going to bring some sandwiches, she likes to eat chicken sandwich. Jairo was going to bring some cookies to eat with a pineapple dip with cream cheese and, I said I was going to bring some drinks and snacks. Finally the day arrived. We were ready to go. The day was sunny, so I though it was not necessary to carry an umbrella.
We get to the place early in the morning. We were a little tired of the walk so Karen made Jairo carry her handbag. We explored the lagoon and all seems beautiful. Finally we started to take things out to distribute the food. Jairo had put a tablecloth in the grass under the shade of some beautiful trees. Suddenly, Karen said that something was wrong, so we asked her and she answered some of the sandwiches were missing. We tough she was joking but she was talking seriously. The day was not even half yet, and still things started bad, so we had some drinks and snacks, pineapple dip but that was not enough to fill our stomachs. We had planned this picnic since a month ago, but now this was happening. Somebody said we could eat what we have in there but the truth it was what we had was not enough. So I proposed that someone has to go to  buy some food at the supermarket.After some minutes I had Karen buy some food for us at the supermarket.She arrived with the food twenty minutes later and all things were good at the moment. We ate too much food, we talked of many things, we had so much fun at the lagoon, after the lunch we felt a little tired and we took a little snap. We were all asleep, when sudden a felt a drop of water in my face. The rain made me wake up. Why was this happening? We had in front of us the most terrible rain, barely gave us time to pick up our things and started to run looking for a refuge but, that was imposible because all the houses there were like twenty minutes of where we were, so it was imposible not to get wet. It was around 2 pm and the rain was stronger, we got to a place in where there were many trees together so we stayed there, We were already wet so we just needed the rain to stop. The rain finally stopped and we were wet from head to toes. We just wanted to go to our houses for  take a shower and sleep all night, but we still lacked something, to walk thirty minutes to got to the bus stop.
We will never forget that day. Even tough we planned all the details, all what we needed, did not happen the way we planned.
